Rocker Arm Spot Welder for Low Production Applications
The rocker arm spot welder is a commonly used stationary machine for low production welding. You can actuate it with a mechanical foot pedal or an air cylinder. The lower arm adjusts up and down for setup but remains stationary during welding. The upper arm pivots or “rocks” into the weld position to complete the weld circuit.

Rocker arm spot welders handle a wide range of work up to 2 thicknesses of 1/8″ thick steel.
Foot-Operated Models
Foot-operated rocker arm spot welders work best for miscellaneous job shop work. They excel at sheet metal fabrication projects.
Air-Operated Models
Air-operated machines suit production runs perfectly. They perform best when runs aren’t too long and require minimal setup tooling.
Single Phase AC Air-Operated Rocker Arm Spot Welders
Standard Configurations
We offer single phase AC air-operated rocker arm spot welders with standard throat depths from 12″ to 36″. A fabricated steel frame supports the heavily reinforced rocker arm assembly. A double-acting air cylinder actuates the system.
Heavy-Duty Transformer Design
A stacked core transformer features water-cooled secondaries. This design supports the duty cycle you’ll experience in higher production applications. You can select variable heat ranges with an adjustable side-mounted tap switch when specified.
Long-Term Adaptability Versatile for Future Needs
Rocker arm spot welders adapt well to various production requirements throughout their long service life. A cast alloy knee on the lower arm adjusts vertically to handle different applications in the future.
Model Sizes and Specifications
Each basic welder comes in different sizes as shown in the table below:
- The 2CR features a 2¼” diameter copper arm (horn)
- The 3CR features a 2¾” diameter copper arm (horn)
We typically supply a 1¼” diameter ejector type electrode holder for 5RW water-cooled electrodes with each arm. A water circuit runs throughout the welder.
Controls and Transformers Custom-Sized for Your Application
We provide the appropriately sized control and transformer for each application. Standard weld control brands (ENTRON, WTC, Medar, Unitrol, etc.) mount easily on your rocker arm spot welder. This meets your specific plant weld control specifications.
